Ordinarily, once the GoFlex Home is connected properly to a Mac computer with MacOS 10.5 or higher, you can insert the GoFlex Home CD into the Mac, install the software, and begin using it. If all goes well, you should be able to have access to it via the Mac Desktop.
It would appear as a network drive, and you may use it as you would any other storage device.
If, however, the software installation does not cause the GoFlex Home to be found on the network, please follow these instructions:
- Launch Safari.
- In the address bar, type: http://goflexhome.local
Press Enter and you should see the login page.
- Proceed with the installation from the web interface instead.
- If that does not succeed, the other option is to look for the IP address of the GoFlex Home. Many routers have an IP table of which devices are connected and their IP addresses. Please check your router's documentation to know how to accomplish this.
- Find the IP address of the device from the router's IP table and then enter that IP address in the address line of Safari (or another Internet browser) and continue as mentioned above.
