Active directory permissions on some networks must be assigned through the underlying Windows XP system.

  1. Connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse to the Ethernet Disk (or, access the drive through Remote Desktop Connection.)
  2. On the keyboard, press [ctrl] + [alt] + [delete] ( in Remote Desktop, press [ctrl] + [alt] + [end].)
  3. Click the Task Manager button.
  4. Click the Users tab.
  5. Choose File, then New Task from the menu that appears.
  6. Type "explorer" (without the quotes.)

  8. Right-click the share needing the permissions manually assigned.
