You can connect Ultra Compact SSD to a USB-C port on your computer, but transfer rates vary:

The setup process lets you:

Install Toolkit | Manage mirror folders, backup plans (Windows only), and more. | www.seagate.com/toolkit |
Using a file manager such as Finder or File Explorer, open Ultra Compact SSD and launch Start Here Mac or Start Here Win.
Enter your information and select Register.
Select the Download button.
Using a file manager such as Finder or File Explorer, go to the folder where you receive downloads.
To remove the protective case, pull the case away from the back of Ultra Compact SSD and slide the device out.
To remove the lanyard, reverse the steps above.
