Getting Started
Ultra Compact SSD performance
You can connect Ultra Compact SSD to a USB-C port on your computer, but transfer rates vary:

Connect Ultra Compact SSD
- Remove the protective cap from the USB-C connector on Ultra Compact SSD.
- Plug Ultra Compact SSD into a USB-C port on your computer.
Set up Ultra Compact SSD
The setup process lets you:

Start here
Using a file manager such as Finder or File Explorer, open Ultra Compact SSD and launch Start Here Mac or Start Here Win.
Register your device
Enter your information and select Register.
Download Toolkit
Select the Download button.
Install Toolkit
Using a file manager such as Finder or File Explorer, go to the folder where you receive downloads.
- Windows—Select the SeagateToolkit.exe file to launch the application.
- Mac—Open the SeagateToolkit.zip file and select the Seagate Toolkit Installer to launch the application.
Use protective case
- Push Ultra Compact SSD's connector into the top of the protective case and slide the connector through the opening at the end. Pull the rest of case over the back of the device.
- Place the protective cap over the connector.
To remove the protective case, pull the case away from the back of Ultra Compact SSD and slide the device out.
Use lanyard
- Turn Ultra Compact SSD over and thread the string loop through the two openings.
- Thread the lanyard strap through the string loop.
To remove the lanyard, reverse the steps above.
