These instructions are for use when the Seagate Windows Server WSS NAS is in a Workgroup or if the Essentials Dashboard has not been configured. Please see the admin guide for information on how to setup and use the WSS NAS as a domain controller and use the Essentials Dashboard.
Provides instructions for creating a user account for the Windows Server WSS NAS.
User accounts are required to access shares. Please follow this procedure to create user accounts for the Business Storage Windows Server Network-Attached Storage device:

Click on the Server Manager icon () on the bottom left of the Windows
screen.

Select the Tools menu in the upper right, then select Computer Management.

Expand Local Users and Groups.

Select Users.

Right-click in an empty area in the right window and select New User...

Enter the required information and press Create then click Close.
