Criteria that will be accepted

  1. Packaging
  2. External Drives
  3. PCBA Connector / Pins
  4. Baseplates
  5. Top Cover

Criteria that will not be accepted

  1. Failure to meet packaging requirements
  2. Remorse or unopened packaging
  3. Non-Seagate / Non-Samsung / Non LaCie drive returns
  4. Tampered / Counterfeit drives, e.g. Fake or modified labels
  5. Mismatch Top Cover SN vs Baseplate SN
  6. Burnt / Missing Pins
  7. Burnt proximity to power connector (1 ") / Missing PCBA Components
  8. Severely Burnt PCBA
  9. PCBA with Broken Connector
  10. Screw Thread Worn Out
  11. Missing Top Cover Screws

1 Packaging
  • Packaging is properly done in accordance with Seagate guidelines
  • Reseller and Distributors MUST use ESD bag, Seashell and proper packaging

2 External Drives
  • USB connector pushed inside the housing / casing
    • USB Port pushed Inward
  • Light and superficial scratches, minor dents
    • Light and superficial scratches
    • External drive with slight dented corner.
    • Slight opening.
3 PCBA Connector /Pins
  • Cracked and portion is missing Bent pins
    • Cracked or broken portion on the corner of SATA connector.
    • Cracked or broken portion of SATA connector.
    • Sample of bent SATA pins.
4 Baseplate
    • Scratches (light scratches from normal mounting)

                 
5 Top Cover
  • Markings on the Top Cover Label not affecting the Serial Number/ Model / Part Number
    • Light scratches that cannot be felt with finger
    •  Multiple light scratches
  • Marking on the metal cover than can be removed with ESD safe gum eraser

    Note: Non-permanent markings can be erased by using a ESD safe gum eraser

  • Sticker can be easily removed from label
  • Minor dent or ding
  • Slight Dents
Minor tear at the edges acceptable

6 Burnt / Missing Pins
  • Burnt Pins

7 Burnt proximity to power connector (1 ") / Missing PCBA Components
