The following procedure provides the steps needed for installing Seagate BlackArmor Backup software from the CD.
- Insert the Seagate BlackArmor CD into your system's CD/DVD drive bay. The AutoPlay window opens.
- Click Run Setup.exe.
Note to Windows Vista Users:
A User Account Control (UAC) window opens, prompting for permission to proceed. Click Continue.

Note: In the event that AutoPlay does not run:- Click Start.
- Right-click Computer (My Computer for Windows XP) and select Manage from the drop-down menu.
- Browse to the drive letter associated with the BlackArmor CD. Right-click on the drive and choose Explore.
- From the next explorer window, double-click on Setup (or Setup.exe).
Note to Windows Vista Users:

The Seagate BlackArmor Installation Menu opens.
- Click Install BlackArmor Discovery. BlackArmor Setup prepares the InstallShield Wizard after which the Welcome screen opens.
- Click Next. The Select a Language for the License Agreement screen opens.
- Use the scrollbar to select a language from the list.
- Click Next. The License Agreement window opens.
- Check the radio button to accept the terms of the agreement.
- Click Next. The Choose a Destination screen opens.
- Maintain the default installation location or click Browse to choose elsewhere.
- Click Next. The Ready To Install screen opens.
- Click Install. The software installs to your system. The InstallShield Complete screen opens.
- Click Finish.
To locate (discover) BlackArmor NAS 440 on your network:
Double-click on the BlackArmor Discovery Shortcut on your desktop. The Seagate BlackArmor Discovery opens, listing the discovered BlackArmor NAS 440 on your Network Segment.
